Former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili Rejects New National Anthem

Former Minister of Education Mrs Oby Ezekwesili made a public announcement where she made it clear that any time she is told to sing the National Anthem of Nigeria she will sing the national anthem that was recently replaced instead of the one signed into law by the Executive President of Nigeria His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu marking his one year in office.

The founder of ”Fix Politics Nigeria” who also served as Federal Minister of Solid Minerals in 2005-2006 noted that she will sing the abolished National Anthem and nobody would be allowed to suppress her right to say no to the new national anthem that was used when Nigeria gained independence in 1960 and return back as official national anthem of Nigeria starting from 29th May 2024.

Her recent tweet on her verified X social media page made it clear that she did not accept the return of the old national anthem as she said she would choose the one suitable for her which is now known as the former national anthem after the president signed the bill passed by the National Assembly demanding the change of Nigeria National Anthem.
