Dangote Refinery Moves to Import Crude Oil from United States

In trending news, Dangote Refinery reportedly moved to start importing crude oil from the United States of America.

In reaction to the news, Nigerians welcomed the news with mixed reaction and confusion as Nigeria is blessed with an enormous crude oil deposit.

It was expected that Dangote Refinery would source crude oil locally in Nigeria to refine petroleum products but the trending news raises too many questions on why the company couldn’t receive enough crude oil supply from the government of Nigeria through the government-owned establishment in charge of crude oil supply and exports.

Nigerians in reaction to the trending news also have mixed feelings on the possible outcome of the petroleum products prices from Dangote Refinery as the company reportedly moved to import crude oil from foreign countries.

The commissioning of Dangote Refinery and the news of the company starting production made many expect a reduction in product prices since NNPCL was billed to supply the company crude oil.

Many also expect Dangote Refinery to attract dollars into the Nigeria economy and also bring down the cost of refined petroleum products such as PMS, AGO, aviation fuel etc.
