The Deputy Governor of Edo State His Excellency Comrade Philip Shaibu has officially declared interest to run for the office of the Executive Governor of Edo State in 2024.
Philip Shaibu ran a joint ticket with Godwin Obaseki in their first and second elections bids in the Edo State Governorship elections. In their first election bid, they ran under the All Progressive Congress ( APC) as the party flag bearer during the Edo State Governorship election. The failure of his principal His Excellency Godwin Obaseki to secure the APC ticket for a second tenure made his move to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) where he was given the party ticket and nominated his deputy Comrade Philip Shaibu to run a joint ticket with him for their second tenure.
As their tenure gears to end in 2024, Philip Shaibu on Monday 27th November 2023 declared interest in running for the office of the Executive Governor of Edo State.
While declaring his interest he anchored his ambition on five points agendas:
Infrastructural Development And Economic Diversification
Education Sports, Skills Development, And Job Creation Forms
Healthcare And Social Welfare Systems.
Agriculture, Rural Development, And Poverty Alleviation
Security, Environmental Sustainability, And Transparent Governance
