Rochas Okorocha Charges Senator Akpabio to Super Head the Release of Maazi Nnamdi Kanu

The former Governor of Imo State Senator Rochas Okorocha has called for the release of Maazi Nnamdi Kanu who was arrested and detained during the administration of the former President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari.

Senator Rochas Okorocha on Monday 18th November 2024 made a passionate appeal to the Senate President of the 10th Senate Assembly Senator Godswill Akpabio to make a move for the release of Maazi Nnamdi Kanu for peace to be restored better in the South East region which comprises five states namely Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi and Imo State.

Speaking further, Rochas reminded the Senate President that he is married to their daughter and that the situation should be a concern to him as an in-law to the people of the Southeast region.

Senator Rochas Okorocha was equally a senator who represented Imo West Senatorial District during the 9th Senate-Assembly between 2019 and 2023. He acknowledged the power that the Senate president has and noted that even if the Senate President can’t declare the release of Maazi Kanu directly, he (Akpabio) can talk to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as someone closer to the corridor of power as the number three citizen of the country currently.

In the South East, the arrest of Maazi Nnamdi Kanu has generated too many negative vibes, and bad people have taken advantage of the situation by enforcing certain things that undermine the peace and tranquility that the South East enjoys.

Senator Rochas Okorocha spoke highly in admiration and applaud of people from the South East present while delivering his speech to mark the last respect to Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah from Anambra State who died in London while serving as a Senator in the 10th Senate Assembly.
