Philip Shaibu Begs Governor Godwin Obaseki For Forgiveness

The Deputy Governor of Edo State Philip Shaibu on Thursday 21st September 2023 tendered an apology to the State Governor His Excellency Godwin Obaseki.

In a press briefing during the gathering of Catholic Men Organization (CMO) in the state, he tendered apology to the Governor in any way he has done something wrong to him as a human. He acknowledged that he is not perfect and pleaded further for the Governor to forgive him.

The Deputy Governor also said that he is obedient and has accepted to relocate to his new office outside the government house as approved by the Governor of Edo State.

The Deputy Governor was denied entrance to the government house recently and all his moves to have access to the Governor were unsuccessful.

Recall that Governor Obaseki in one of his meetings with stakeholders of PDP said that the Deputy Governor was plotting a coup against him through his move during the election of principal officers of the State House of Assembly where the Deputy Governor was alleged to be supporting a speaker candidate different from the plans of the Governor.

The Governor disclosed that he fell out with the Deputy Governor as he was no longer sure of the Deputy Governor’s loyalty to him and his government.

The tenure of the duo is set to end in 2024 after running in a joint ticket for first and second tenure under APC during their first tenure and PDP for their second term.
