Ondo State Governor Wins APC Governorship Primary Election

Ondo State Governor His Excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reported won the All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship primary election of the party conducted on Saturday 20th April 2024.

The election was earlier declared inconclusive by the party but towards dawn of 22nd April 2024, the party concluded on the results of the primary election and declared Lucky the winner of the election.

Recall that His Excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa became the Governor of Ondo State after the death of his principal and predecessor Barr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) who he deserved diligently as his deputy Governor and running mate during his second tenure.

His success in the APC primary election conducted in the state has made him the party candidate for the Ondo State Gubernatorial election in 2024.

After the primary election which was earlier declared inconclusive, some candidates who were dissatisfied with the conduct of the election led a protest within the State but the announcement from APC showed that the party had concluded the primary election and produced a candidate for the main election in the State.

The declaration of His Excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the winner of the APC Guber primary election has made him the flag bearer and the candidate of his party APC ahead of the Ondo State Governorship election on 16th November 2024.

He got a total vote of 48, 569 to beat his closest rivalries Mayowa Akinfolarin who got 15, 343 and Olusola Oke who got 14, 865 votes in the direct primary election led by Kogi State Governor His Excellency Ahmed Ododo election committee for the party.
