Mr John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu due to his comic roles in movies and the entertainment industry has gone through seven successful surgeries but regrettably lost one of his legs to stay alive and hasten quick recovery.
Recall that the news of his health challenges had been reported and many notable Nigerians like the former Senate President of Nigeria and Former Governor of Kwara State His Excellency Bukola Saraki had donated an undisclosed amount for Mr Ibu’s hospital bills.
His daughter Chioma Jasmine Okafor intimated to the general public the successful seven surgeries carried out on him and the news of the amputation of his leg for him to stay alive. She equally appreciated everyone for their support in different ways.
Jasmine said:
‘We want to appreciate everyone that has come through for our dad, saying we are grateful is an understatement and only the good Lord can thank you all enough for every help you ‘ve rendered.
As of 1pm, noon today, Daddy has gone through 7 successful surgeries but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery one of his legs had to be amputed .. This development has been hard on us all but we ‘ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive”.
