Romat Transport Ltd is a company solving mobility problem in Nigeria after identifying how people spend large part of their income in planning their mobility especially for inter – state travels and non- Nigeria residents.
People travel for many reasons, and it has shown that movement is not limited to a particular place in search of greener pastures and entertainment purposes.
According to the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company Matthew Aroh, he said he was in Cotonou Benin Republic in 2018 when he heard that one of his cousins that lives in Europe returned to Nigeria with three cars for his convoy and mobility package while in the country and everyone was speaking highly of how he must have accumulated wealth for himself leading to the buying of the flashy cars. Matthew Aroh noted that the first question he asked who broke the news to him was directly to ascertain if his cousin had relocated back to Nigeria permanently and he was told that he only visited for Christmas or Yuletide holiday. The questions that ran through Romat founder were the huge costs his cousin must have incurred while purchasing the cars and what will happen to the cars when holiday would be over. For him, his cousin would spend more money on maintaining the cars if he decides to park them in a private garage and travel back to the Europe. If his cousin decides to sell the cars, he won’t recover what he spent during the purchase and he may ended up selling the cars at giveaway prices.
A business idea was birthed, and he moved to solve problem in the society in ways that people will save money on their mobility.
People travels from one state to another for weddings, business meetings, conference, funeral, birthdays, family meetings, parties and many other reasons. It indicates that sometimes people will leave their city or State of resident to travel to another State which will require them to plan their mobility. In the type of target market that Romat serves, most clients are VIPS who will prefer to take a flight to the nearest airport close to where they are going which will require that they can either send their cars ahead to pick them at the airport or rely on buying and parking cars that will pick them up regularly. Romat comes in to provide car for them in luxury or executive way through providing them with the type of cars that suits their functions, and nobody will know they rented car except if they tell who is close to them.
People that live outside Nigeria but visiting for certain functions will save cost and time when they rent cars from Romat instead of buying the cars directly.
Matthew Aroh equally noted that most of the people that lives outside Nigeria may no longer have active driving license or understands the road network of certain cities and states they would be touching while in Nigeria due to their possible long absence in the country. Romat provides them cars alongside a professional driver which the company refer to as pilot.
The services rendered by Romat enables people that rent cars to have zero worries on mechanic issues, high cost of buying cars that they will only use for few days before leaving the city to return to their city or country of residence.
In the problem that Romat is solving, it was also identified that some people may need cars to attend a special function that will give them good impression before who they wish to visit or meet but they don’t have money to buy those cars and it will take them years to afford buying such cars. People in this category now have option of renting cars from Romat and channel their little savings or resources into laudable assets and investment.
