MTN Nigeria Selects 300 Youths for 90 Million Naira Equipment Grants

MTN Foundation organized ICT Skill training for about three thousand Nigerian Youths drawn from the States in Nigeria.

The training was carried out by MTN partners in the program which enabled the selected youths to embark on five weeks training to learn graphics design and website design by Microsoft trainers and also the use of Meta products such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to create awareness leading to products visibility or more sales.

In the last week of the program, selected youths that participated in the training also got introduced to insuring their businesses, protecting their business idea or products through the legal means available, becoming a momo agent, how to develop and send bulk SMS, business skills and lots more.

The program finally ended on Thursday 12th October 2023 in a closing ceremony held in Lagos State and streamed online through Zoom. Before the unveiling of the selected three hundred youths for the equipment grants, the Governor of Edo State His Excellency Godwin Obaseki gave remarks where he appreciated MTN for doing something laudable for the youths. He also encouraged the participants especially those from Edo State to use the relevant skills gained in the program to contribute to job creation and business development.

The Governor of Enugu State His Excellency Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah was represented by the Special Adviser/ Director General Enugu SME Centre Hon. Arinze Chillo- Offiah who appreciated MTN Foundation and the partners (Microsoft & Meta) for the opportunity offered to Enugu State Youths which is in line with his (Governor) administration goals to equip Enugu Youths with relevant ICT skills. Two participants from Enugu State also appreciated MTN Foundation, its partners and Enugu State Governor for the opportunity given to the youths from the State.

The Governor of Anambra State His Excellency Prof. Charles Soludo was also represented and the representative of the Governor extolled MTN foundation and partners for the ICT skill training offered to the youths.

At the closing of the graduation ceremony, the three hundred youths selected for the equipment grant worth three hundred thousand naira were announced.
