Dhruv Loya, on his professional social media page, shared the end of a challenging journey for him: He recently secured a full-time job as a Technical Support Specialist at Tesla marking a new beginning in career growth.
According to Dhruv, he sent more than three hundred applications, more than five hundred cold emails and about ten interviews with one job offer. His story is indeed a motivating and inspiring one, especially for young people out there seeking job opportunities. His success at the end in securing a position at Tesla comes as a boost of encouragement that continuous efforts every day matter because the number of his applications and cold emails showed that he was consistent in making efforts.
Dhruv was unemployed for five months despite having a good GPA, three internships and actively involved in extracurricular activities. He lost his health insurance, lease and worried about being forced to leave the United States following his visa status.
Revealing further about what he passed through or his challenges, he noted that he was homeless as he slept in his friend’s apartment for some months and slept on air mattresses as he was trying to save money as much as he could.
He recognized the fact that the job market is not easy, especially for international students and he said that his advice for anyone facing similar struggles entails treating job hunting/job applications like 9-5 jobs but still recommended taking a rest, especially evenings and weekends to unwind and do things that one enjoy doing in free time.
Dhruv revealed further that Hunter, LinkedIn, handshake and others helped him to land his interviews as he used them in cold emails, and job searches including using AI tools for resume and cover letter sharpening.
