Peter Mbah Commission Water Project in Enugu State, Says Investors in Water Supply Should Convert Tankers for Other Purposes

The Executive Governor of Enugu State His Excellency Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has delivered on his campaign promise of giving Enugu people water within one hundred and eighty days in office as the State Governor.

Saturday 25th November 2023 marked the exact 180 days since he was sworn in as the Executive Governor of Enugu State and the ceremony was celebrated with the commissioning of a water project at 9th Mile Enugu tagged “Water Day”

In his speech, the Governor thanked his political appointees and those who made the water project a success. He also noted that the job is not 100% done as he won’t rest until zones like Nsukka and others also have access to water as those in the capital city will be enjoying seventy million litres of water daily to run for three hundred and sixty-five days none stop.

He said that the continuous efforts of the project will lead to an increase in water production to increase the daily production of water supply.

Speaking further while commissioning the water project, Peter Mbah said that his administration will not tolerate vandalization of the materials installed for the water project and people should desist from any form of vandalization as those caught in the act will be dealt with severely.

He said that those who have invested in water supply equipment like storage tanks and delivery tankers will be directly affected because water will be running in every home in Enugu. He encouraged the investors to find alternatives and convert their water supply tankers into other possible alternatives different from the water supply.

The Executive Governor said that Enugu people will not spend too much money again in buying water and they will be spending only a fraction of what they spent in buying water in the past. He emphasized that the water supply is not free and water supply metres will be installed in every home in need of direct running water.

Before ending his speech he thanked his Special Adviser on the water project and applauded him and his team for delivering in the shortest time even when it appeared that the timeline wouldn’t be achievable.
