The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal Sitting at the High Court in Jos, Plateau State affirms the victory of Caleb Mutfwang as the duly elected Governor of Plateau State during the Governorship election held in the State on the 18th March 2023.
His Excellency Caleb Mutfwang ran under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) which was then an opposition party in the State as his predecessor supported Solomon Lalong supported the candidate of his party All Progressive Congress ( APC) in the election.
Political parties that disagreed with the declaration of the incumbent Governor of Plateau State as the true winner of the election approached the Election Petition tribunal in the State to challenge his victory in the election.
In a public statement gotten from the Governor’s verified social media handle, he thanked the good people of Plateau State for electing him and reiterated that his government will deliver on the programs that his administration have started.
He said ” The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in the Jos High Court validated my return as the duly elected candidate of the 18th March 2023 Governorship election in Plateau State. I want to thank God Almighty who made it possible; I want to thank the people of Plateau State who have stood by us. I want to thank the Lordships for having the heart to do according to the detects of their conscience and according to the law. To the people of Plateau State, I want to say the Hope they have placed in me is not mistaken, and by the Grace of God, we will deliver on this Hope. We will become more proactive in the days to come and with the programs we have started, we will accelerate them and ensure we will move at the best speed that we can to deliver”.
