REUBEN ABATI UNDER FIRE: IPOB Lawyer Demands Public Apology for Anti-Igbo Sentiments

A heated controversy has erupted following a live television interview on TheMorningShow, where Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), confronted Reuben Abati over his alleged deep-rooted hatred for the Igbo people and their struggle for freedom.

During the interview, Ejiofor took Abati to task over his perceived ethnic bigotry, which he claimed was “inborn” and could no longer be hidden. The IPOB lawyer demanded an unreserved public apology from Abati to the Igbo people for his anti-Igbo sentiments.

The controversy has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for a boycott of AriseTV platforms if Nduka Obaigbena, the platform’s owner, fails to condemn Abati’s Igbophobia. The incident has reignited concerns about ethnic intolerance and the need for greater understanding and respect among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups.

In a related development, Otu Oka-Iwu Abuja has condemned the renewed calls for Igbos to leave Lagos, describing such statements as treasonable offenses that jeopardize the peace and unity of the country.
