Section 59(2) of the petroleum industry act 2021 signed by the former President of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari, mandated guidelines on appointing people to serve into NNPC which is now regarded as a private company.
Following the news revealed by Ambassador Gabriel Aduda who was also appointed as a permanent secretary Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, it was discovered that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed nine people to the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The board appointment constitutes Chairman, Group Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and non-executive Directors.
The NNPCL Board lists are :
Chief Pius Akinyelure – Non Executive Board Chairman
Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari – Group Chief Executive Officer
Alhaji Umar Isa Ajiya – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Ledum Mitee – Non-Executive Director
Mr. Musa Tumsa – Non-Executive Director
Mr. Ghali Muhammad – Non-Executive Director
Prof. Mustapha Aliyu – Non- Executive Director
Mr. David Ogbodo – Non-Executive Director
Ms. Eunice Thomas – Non – Executive Director
In a further statement signed by Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Publicity, he stated that Ambassador Gabriel Aduda was appointed as Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources while Mr. Okokon Ekanem Udo was appointed as Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Finance.
