Obaseki Accepts the Apology Tendered by the Deputy

Edo State Governor His Excellency Godwin Obaseki in a public statement has accepted the apology tendered by his Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu.

According to Obaseki, to err is human and to forgive is divine.

He narrated how his deputy tried to carry out a coup against him that could have led to his possible removal as the Governor. He also said the Deputy Governor brought court cases which are all against the interest of him as the Governor.

Obaseki in the public statement accused the deputy of bad conduct which are all against their campaign promises of delivering dividends of democracy to the good people of Edo State.

He also charged the Deputy to follow his leadership as they work assiduously to finish strong in the next one year.

Edo State Governorship election will take place in 2024 according to the publication of the electoral Umpire in the country.

The tenure of the duo will elapse in 2024 which will be the completion of their second term of full eight years as Governor and Deputy Governor respectively.
