Lucky Aiyedatiwa Wins Ondo State Governorship Election

The incumbent Governor of Ondo State His Excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa has emerged the winner of the Ondo State Governorship election conducted on Saturday 16th November 2024 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Recall that Aiyedatiwa was formerly the deputy governor of the state but was sworn in as the Governor of Ondo State after Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s (SAN) death. The tenure of the duo got elapsed and INEC on Saturday conducted a Gubernatorial election where APC, PDP, LP and other political parties filed candidates that participated in the election.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa ahead of the 16th November 2024 Governorship election in Ondo State secured the ticket of his party All Progressive Congress (APC) as the official flag bearer of the party in the just concluded election.

Following the news coming out on Sunday 17th November 2024 according to INEC electoral result declaration, Aiyedatiwa and his party APC won all the eighteen Local Government Areas( LGA) in Ondo State.

APC Secured three hundred and sixty-six thousand seven hundred and eighty-one (366,781) while PDP got one hundred and seventeen thousand eight hundred and forty five (117,845).

LP secured only 1162 while SDP and ZLP got 438 and 2692 respectively.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s victory in the election has made him one of the Governors who won their governorship seats after taking over from their predecessors, who died while in office.
