The Executive Governor of Abia State His Excellency Dr Alex Otti has appointed Mr Ojeikere from Edo State South South Nigeria as Head of Service in Abia State, South East Nigeria.
The news of the appointment has attracted accolades for the Abia State Governor who in the appointment of someone who is not from his state and region demonstrated unity and one Nigeria philosophy in choosing merit over favouritism and ethnicity.
Mr Ojeikere arrived Abia State many years ago as a Youth Corps member undergoing compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for Nigerian fresh graduates who are within the age limit. He performed excellently during his service year enabling him to secure a merit job in Abia State Civil Service.
In 2023, Mr Ojeikere was promoted to the rank of Permanent Secretary (Perm Sec) during the first year of Governor Alex Otti and in 2025, merit spoke highly for him as he got appointed to the rank of Head of Service in Abia State.
