The Enugu Youth Association (EYA), under the leadership of its National President, Mr. Aroh Michael Nwafor, has extended warm congratulations to the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on the official launch of Enugu Air, the state’s pioneering airline initiative in a Public–Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement
In a statement issued by the association, EYA described the launch of Enugu Air as a historic stride that will open up vast job opportunities for Enugu youths, especially those aspiring to build careers in the aviation sector.
“This is a commendable and visionary step by Governor Peter Mbah, which aligns with the aspirations of Enugu’s vibrant youth population,” Mr. Aroh Michael stated. “The establishment of Enugu Air will not only create direct and indirect employment for our youths but also stimulate economic growth across the state.”
The association, while applauding the state government, also charged Governor Mbah’s administration to ensure the sustainability of the airline, emphasizing that its continuity is critical to the long-term economic development of Enugu State, South East Nigeria
“We urge the government to adopt a robust sustainability strategy for Enugu Air so that it continues to operate efficiently and becomes a model for state-owned enterprises across Nigeria,” EYA noted.
Furthermore, the Enugu Youth Association (EYA) called on the state government to give priority to qualified Enugu youths in the recruitment of airline crew, technical staff, and other operational roles within the airline.
“Giving Enugu youths the first opportunity to serve in various capacities within Enugu Air will not only enhance local manpower development but will position our young people to actively participate and compete in the aviation industry,” EYA stated.
The association reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that foster youth empowerment and development while encouraging the state government to continue engaging with youth-focused organizations to maximize the benefits of such laudable projects.
