Appeal Court has affirmed the victory of Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan as the duly elected senator for Kogi Central during the 25th February senatorial election held in all the polling units located in Kogi Central Senatorial District.
In build-up of the election, Natasha sought for the ticket of People’s Democratic Party(PDP) to represent Kogi Central Senatorial District at the Senate of National Assembly. She won her primary election carried out by her party and monitored by INEC and certified her the official flag bearer of PDP in the mentioned senatorial district.
She campaigned vigorously for the election while sharing her manifesto to canvass for votes.
The incumbent Governor of Kogi State His Excellency Y. Bello is also from her senatorial district and both belongs to different political parties.
After the election, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner by INEC and Natasha approached the election petition tribunal challenging the victory of her opponent. The tribunal in a judgment declared Natasha as the winner of the election.
Appeal Court in a recent judgment agreed with the judgment of the tribunal and affirmed Natasha as the authentic winner of the Kogi Central Senatorial District election held on 25th February 2023.
