NPF Extends Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement to October 2, 2025

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced a further extension of the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement, shifting the new enforcement date to October 2, 2025.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, approved the extension following a significant rise in permit applications through the official portal. The Force says this surge reflects increased public compliance and necessitates additional time for thorough scrutiny of applications to ensure permits are issued only to eligible and qualified applicants, in line with national security priorities.

According to the statement signed by Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extension will also allow for continued improvement of both digital and physical verification processes to maintain the integrity of the system and curb abuse.

The NPF reaffirmed that the only authorized application platform is https://possap.gov.ng, urging Nigerians to ignore unofficial channels. Members of the public have also been encouraged to report any cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to the police via the dedicated hotline 09169967000.

The statement appreciated the public’s cooperation, assuring that the Force remains committed to balancing citizens’ convenience with robust security measures to ensure safety nationwide.
