The current holder of the title Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland is Honourable Akinola Adekunle Alabi, popularly known as Oloye Akin Alabi. He was officially installed on Friday, May 23rd 2025, by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, at the Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan
By being installed as Jagun Olubadan, Alabi has formally entered the Balogun (military) line of the Ibadan chieftaincy system—a structured, merit-based progression that could eventually lead to the throne of the Olubadan. The title of Jagun is the first step in this hierarchy, marking the beginning of a long journey through successive promotions based on seniority and service.
Jagun Olubadan Akin Alabi is a prominent Nigerian entrepreneur, philanthropist, Author and politician. He currently serves as the Member of the House of Representatives, representing the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency in Oyo State.
