A notable Nsukka-born Philanthropist from Edem Ani in Nsukka Local Government Area Enugu State and the founder of SPD Group of Companies is reportedly missing raising concerns about his sudden disappearance.
Obeta David Williams is a popular philanthropist known for the way he uses his wealth to help those in need, including providing business grant support, paying medical bills, and engaging in many other humanitarian works.
He is also popular as a public figure who talks about social issues, especially those that affect his immediate environment. His comments have earned him more fans and hatred from those who don’t like his approach to critical issues.
For a few days now, the news of his missing had been trending without the members of his family or close friends saying what led to his sudden disappearance.
In other news, some persons claimed he was kidnapped. Still, a notable human rights activist from Delta State Harrison Gwamnishu who is the founder of Behind the Bars has dismissed the misinformation of his disappearance as a result of being kidnapped.
Harrison on his official verified Facebook page made it known that he was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) and it is not a kidnapping case.
The human rights activist said that Obeta David Williams is alive and under DSS custody in Abuja. He said that his family is doing everything possible to ensure his release but categorically noted that the reason for his arrest by men of the DSS is yet to be unravelled.
Speaking further in another Facebook post, he called on the public to request that DSS should grant his family and legal representative access to him.
A popular Influencer and humanitarian named “Okwuluora” also made a Facebook post on Friday 22nd November 2024 concerning the disappearance of Obeta David Williams.
