The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress(TUC) have embarked on a nationwide strike to protest the beating or assault of the NLC National President in Imo State.
In a memo or official press release signed by the Secretary of NLC and TUC, the joint union has directed all workers to embark on an immediate strike that kicked off at midnight on 13th November 2023.
In other viral news, health workers have proceeded with the directive of the NLC.
Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) has directed members to proceed with the directives of NLC for an immediate nationwide strike.
The federal government of Nigeria is alleged to have called for an emergency meeting with the leadership of NLC and TUC.
