The 47th President of the United States of America President Donald J. Trump who was sworn ion 20th January 2025 as the democratically elected Executive President of USA has revealed his position on tariff defining the direction of his trade policies in the next four years.
President Trump in his statement frowned at the loss of manufacturing prowess of the United States competing with other emerging economies as USA is arguably noted as the largest economy in the world with its currency (United States Dollar) as the global accepted currency in international trade.
He said that enterprises/businesses should manufacture their goods in the United States of America and enjoy lesser tax payment in the country. He aims to increase the manufacturing capacity of the USA to grow the economy and provides job opportunities for dwellers and American citizens.
He revealed further that goods that were not manufactured in the United States of America (USA) will face high tariff before such goods will enter USA.
His statement has generated lots of concerns and comments as some professionals said that his statement will affect existing laws in global trade.
